Come a Little Closer

It’s funny to us how Nickie is not a fan of the camera… until she is less than six inches away from it. At this point, there is an unstoppable magnetism between her and the camera, and she will stop at nothing to sniff and lick it. We were just taking a few normal pictures when she suddenly could not resist the urge to be as close as possible to the camera. Voila – ultra close-up.

Not Buying It

We tried to explain to Nickie how it would be a great idea if she could just go ahead and go to work in our place today. We told her about the car ride there and all about the awesome cafeteria. We totally had her attention (and an intrigued head tilt) at cafeteria, but I don’t think she was on board with the whole “working” part. Maybe we’ll try again another day.

Lazy Pug Stretch

You know Nickie is tired when she won’t even get out of her bed to stretch in the morning. It looks like she’s trying to turn into a pug giraffe with that impressive neck length. After her lazy half stretch, our sleepy pug stared at us for a minute or two and then plopped back down to resume her staring.

Walking Fail

Alright, in Nickie’s defense, this was taken at the end of one of her intense full body fur shakes, not just walking across the room. However, it seems like she never really knows how to end the shake session, and she usually ends up staggering for a few steps before recovering and looking around to see if there were any witnesses to her awkwardness. This time, there were.

Ridiculously Photogenic

Let’s be honest. Nickie has had more than her fair share of unflattering pictures. However, she seems to have picked up a few extra hours of beauty sleep today. Sometimes I envy how ridiculously good-looking she is.

Grumpy Pug

It looks like somebody didn’t get all her beauty sleep yet and wasn’t ready to wake up this morning. Let me introduce you to our very own grumpy pug. Fortunately her grumpy moods don’t usually last long.

Snug as a Pug in a Snuggie

In this house, Saturday means not changing out of pajamas unless there is some sort of emergency. For a pug, what better way is there to keep your front legs warm while you parade around the living room than by wearing your very own Snuggie! Of course if it was just a traditional blanket, she would have to venture out into the cold to grab a quick drink of water or a snack. However, now Nickie is super cozy and loving it. We’re ready for more Saturday morning cartoons!

Make the Snow Stop Face

Some dogs love bounding through the snow and wildly digging and burrowing in it. Our pug is not one of those dogs. Nickie will cautiously explore the snow, often looking back at us to let us know she’s not pleased. When Nickie comes back inside, she just stares wistfully at us like she’s begging us to make the snow go away.

Lazy Day

On cold, snowy days like today, all the treats in the world couldn’t coax Nickie out of the house for a walk. This pug would much rather stay cozy and lounge in her bed.
