Every afternoon, the same scene plays out with our pug Nickie. The hour before dinnertime is like a long road trip with a car packed full of family members asking if you’re there yet. Nickie parks herself as close as possible and looks up expectantly, seeming to ask if it’s dinner time yet. She’ll wait a minute or so, stand up, and then sit down again with a huff, as if to inquire “How about now?”. Nickie can be one impatient pug, and dinner time is her favorite time of the day!
It’s finally Friday, and Nickie the Pug is ready to cut loose and enjoy some play time with all her plush toy friends! Let the fun begin!
Nickie the pug demands few things in life. On most days, she only demands breakfast as soon as she wakes up, dinner starting around 3pm (even though we try to make her wait until 4pm), and belly rubs. When she’s ready for her belly rubs, Nickie rolls over, tucks in her paws, and proceeds to huff and stare until the belly rubs begin.
They say an old dog can’t learn new tricks, but we’re still struggling with keeping our little Nickie up to speed on some of the old tricks she knows! Her “sit” is somewhere before sitting and laying, and if you wait too long to hand over her treat, she pulls out her second favorite trick which is “speak”. While Nickie may not be ready for a prime time doggie talent show, she is definitely the sweetest pug we know!
