Nickie likes to “hide” from us on the other side of the kitchen gate, and peek out from behind the bars. We think she is believes this makes her invisible, but it really just makes her look like she’s guilty of something.
Bed Grooming
Here is Nickie, licking her whole bed again to make sure it is super clean. This is one of our pug’s favorite activities. She definitely shares our high standards for cleanliness.
Taming the Lion
Nickie has a wide variety of toys to choose from for her playtime antics. Here, she has enthusiastically chosen the lion to engage in battle with her. She won, of course, and thus the lion was tamed.
Pug Snow Day
It’s another beautifully snowy day outside- perfect for tromping around out in the yard with Nickie. Let’s be honest, at this point in the winter, we could both use the exercise. Here we come, New Years’ resolutions of maybe finally achieving fitness!

Pug Tongue
Even when Nickie’s not licking the fridge, a toy, the floor, or someone’s leg, she’s still likely to be sticking her tongue out at something.
Pug Serenade
Rather than the typical dog bark, Nickie uses an assortment of other miscellaneous sounds to communicate with us, often with perfect comedic timing to punctuate our own sentences. She’s a natural.
Training Fail
Try as we might, neither of can master the techniques and finesse of The Dog Whisperer. The problem is not the motivation of the subject. The pug would pretty much do anything for a treat… if she could just figure out what we were asking her to do. We were just standing there holding a treat, and she promptly went through her whole repertoire of cool tricks. Well, namely just the three (sit, lay down, and speak). It didn’t take long. She became offended when we laughed at her, so we gave her the treat as a consolation prize for her efforts. We’ll have to re-think our backup plan of creating a pug circus.
Slumber Party!
Nickie likes to collect her plush toys from all over the house and place them in her dog bed before joining them for a glorious sleepover. I daresay by the look on her face that we weren’t invited to this party.
The Camera Loves Her
Nickie is definitely ready for her close-up!
