Who doesn’t love getting a cool new toy? Our pug Nickie is delighted to spend her Friday morning playing with her new favorite thing. Alright, we’ll admit it. We had just as much fun playing with this bizarre springy elephant toy as she did.

The Pug Cold Shoulder
Pug Ears
In addition to being super soft and adorable, pug ears are a defining feature of the breed. They can come in two different varieties. Most pugs have button ears with a fold going across the center and the tip coming down to the corner of the pug’s eye. It is rare to see a pug with rose ears. They are smaller and the front edge is folded against the side of the pug’s head. Here is Nickie showing off those button ears.
Nickie with her Button Ears:
Graceful Pug
Playtime with your pug is one of the best times of the day. Their excitement is definitely contagious, and we were rooting for our pug Nickie to catch her panda toy every time. She missed a lot, but didn’t seem to mind. Here are some of our pug’s most determined playtime moments of the day, as well as moments of surprise when the panda evaded her grasp.
Mixed Emotions
Pugs are complex little creatures with a lot of personality, and our pug Nickie is usually pretty good at communicating how she’s feeling. This one was perplexing though. We put a treat on the floor, and it was hard to tell at first whether she was initially excited about it or terrified of it. Maybe she thought it was a trick? She eventually sorted it out and grabbed her tasty treat.
Retreat!
Glamour Pug
Every girl likes to feel glamorous, and Nickie is no exception. Deep down beneath the wrinkles, the rolls, and the snoring, she is definitely a little princess. Sometimes you just need a great piece of jewelry to feel all dressed up, and necklaces are Nickie’s favorite.
In the Homestretch
Another week is almost over, and we couldn’t be more ready for a fun weekend with our pug Nickie. I think she’s stretching to prepare herself for some serious quality time. Happy Friday everyone!
Ready to Seize the Day?
It’s okay, pug. We aren’t ready either. The good news? It’s already Thursday! The bad news? It’s only Thursday. Does anyone else feel like these cold winter days are going by slower than they should? Nickie is looking like she could definitely use a little extra rest and relaxation.
Expression of a Startled Pug
It’s not that hard to sneak up on a pug. Also, our pug is particularly alarmed by many everyday household items – bags, boxes, chairs, really anything that moves faster than a snail has the potential to be terrifying. Here is one of her best surprised moments.
