Nickie is ready for a long Labor Day weekend of fun! She’s kicking it off early with a happy reunion with her freshly laundered dog bed and all her fuzzy friends. Pugs definitely know how to party!
Patiently waiting while her dog bed is washed
We’re playing the waiting game this morning, and Nickie is eagerly awaiting the return of her fluffy dog bed from the depths of our basement laundry room. Nickie and her friends are a little sad to be snuggling on a towel for now, but there will definitely be a celebration soon when her favorite napping spot is all fresh and clean!
Trying to sneak up on a sleeping pug, but then…
There are few things in the world cuter than a sleeping pug! We were trying to sneak up on our pug Nickie without waking her up, but she was on to us! Don’t worry, her accusatory stare quickly turned into a smile when we agreed to rub her belly. Good morning to you too!
Ignorance is Bliss When You’re Driving to the Vet!
Nickie loves going for rides in the car, and we love bringing her along as a travel companion for trips to the park, the pet store, and other adventures. Car rides to the vet’s office are always bittersweet. Nickie has a fantastic time until the dreaded building comes into sight, then she’s wishing she stayed home. Shhh… don’t tell her we’re on our way to the V-E-T for a checkup!
Time for a Belly Rub Stretch!
Nickie loves getting her tummy scratched, especially in the mornings. Today she is combining it with her morning stretches! It was hard not to laugh as she balanced precariously atop a pile of toys in her bed awaiting her usual morning cuddle time after breakfast.
Still Waking Up
Have you noticed that some mornings require a little extra time for both you and your furry friend to really get rolling? Today might be one of those days.
Multitasking Pug
Just like their favorite people, pugs are also creatures of habit. Our pug Nickie spends every morning playing with her bacon-flavored bone toy (we’re pretty sure it’s her favorite). Once she’s done for the morning, she’ll ignore the toy for the rest of the day until the next morning. This is a rare instance where we found her combining both of her favorite morning activities – stretching and chewing on her bone!
How About that Polar Vortex?
We’re looking forward to a break in the summer heat this week, and Nickie is definitely prepared for anything the change in weather could throw our way. :)
Cruising Together
There are few things in the world (that are not food) that are as exciting to our pug Nickie as car rides. Even when we take her outside for a walk around the neighborhood, she often bolts straight to the car and stares at us expectantly. This pug was made for cruising.
So Tired… Must Continue Licking…
Pugs are notorious for many quirky behaviors, and one of these is definitely their constant licking of just about anything they encounter. We were up bright and early this morning, and even though Nickie was still a bit groggy, she spent several minutes sprawled out licking her bed (and clutching her penguin for reasons unbeknownst to us) before finally giving in and drifting off to sleep.
